An update from our manager

Dear Relatives and Friends,

I hope you are all keeping well. I just wanted to send you an update on life at Russettings.

I am happy to say we all remain sign and symptom free and continue to keep everyday life as normal as possible for our residents.

I held a resident meeting this week and I have attached a copy of the minutes. It was agreed that we will hold these meetings on a weekly basis and staff will encourage residents to attend.

Desmond continues to keep you in touch with your loved ones by telephone and Skype which is working well. Please be aware though that if you require clinical information it is better to speak to one of our Nurses. Russettings now has an Instagram page where we will post news and photos from those who have given consent. Please follow @russettings_care_home and comment if you are able to do so.

The children from one of our local schools have sent letters for our residents. We have also commenced a Pen-Pal scheme inviting children and adults to send a card or letter. We believe this will be nice for our residents, especially those without friends or family. Of course we are fully aware of GDPR so full names and details will not be given.

As our weekly hairdresser has not been able to visit we are offering the same services from two of our senior care assistants, Carol and Ula, who were both Hairdressers before commencing their career in care. Prices will be lower than our visiting hairdresser and I would happy to forward you a price list. If you prefer not to use Carol or Ula please inform me.

Thank you for all your kind and generous staff donations. There are not enough words to express how proud I am of my team at Russettings who come in day after day, putting themselves at risk to keep our residents happy, safe and well.

Kind Regards,

Nikki Pile

A message from our manager

I hope you are all well. Although I have spoken to many of you recently, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am happy for you to phone or email us at any time.

My team are all working extremely hard to keep the home running in as normal manner as we can during this hard time. They really do deserve a medal.

We have tried to explain the Coronavirus as best we can to our residents. As you are aware many of them are living with a Dementia and do not understand why they cannot see their loved ones so we continually reassure everyone and are still conducting activities where we can.

I am happy to report that currently no one is showing any signs or symptoms however I will keep you updated of any changes.

Hopefully we will be able to return to normality within the near future and I will take the nearest opportunity to arrange a resident and relatives reunion party.

Please keep safe.

Kindest Regards

Nikki
